Our Impact in 2024

Community Impact

Since 2013, The El Rio Vecinos have contributed more than $1,041,000 through event proceeds to support El Rio Community Heath Center.

     Proceeds from the 2024 Vecinos Block Party will help provide 175-200 free mammogram screenings for women who are uninsured and have no other resources. In addition 15-20 patients who have no other resources will receive help with cancer treatment.  

     In 2022, El Rio provided care for twenty-four people for cancer treatment totaling $133,971. El Rio staff invest their hearts and time helping patients with case coordination and other social determinants of health. We ask partner organizations and oncology specialists to discount their services, which they have done by more than 50%. Your charitable funds then reach further helping those most vulnerable in our community access cancer treatment. 

     In 2019, the El Rio Vecinos dental fund provided about $75,000 of care to 120 unique patients under the age of 18. 

     Beyond the dollars raised, Vecinos have volunteered countless hours toward other El Rio Heath events such as Reach out and Read and the Children's Back to School Immunization Event. 

      The spirit and passion of the membership translate into a huge community impact that has ripples far beyond the dollars raised.
